[Luca Brincat, left, Rica Mifsud Grech, centre, and Jurgen Falzon, right, are all accused of abducting and beating up foreign nationals.](https://preview.redd.it/c4mur1fwk4u91.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30e933892822e004354fed255c21827fff4a5fe0)

Since the courts probably will – let’s NOT forget the names or faces of these assholes. A fucking disgrace to their country is what they are.

This isn’t the first such incident, and it’s not the last. How can these things continue to happen?

  1. Absolute shame. And the best part is – Rica Mifsud Grech is the daughter of Ramon Mifsud Grech. Name rings a bell? He’s the police who [publicly celebrated Daphne’s murder](https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/police-sergeants-comments-after-caruana-galizia-murder-condemend.660623). He also has a [history of aggression reports](https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/Officer-has-a-history-of-aggression-reports.549877) – yet somehow always managed to keep his position in the police force.

Might we also add that Luca Brincat, one of the accused constables, [failed all his police exams](https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/officer-charged-beating-foreigners-failed-police-exams.987920) yet still made it into the force.

How does this keep happening? Easy – systemic corruption from the top, yet people will still bat an eye. I know of a police officer who had to quit the force because his supervisor wanted him to falsely testify in a case.

Not to mention: just look at the state of the police stations: they’re in [literal shambles](https://www.maltatoday.com.mt/news/national/117851/union_warns_shabby_police_stations_hit_morale_they_resemble_horror_houses). This, alongside the corruption, completely demoralises and demotivates the good police and leaves us with people like Luca, Rica and Jurgen. It’s a real shame because there are genuinely good police in the force.

But if we keep setting our standards as low as possible, then this is what we get.

  2. The irony with the police force is that the least intelligent people who lack any meaningful skills and fail at every other opportunity in life end up joining it as a last resort—and as a result they end up holding the most power. Not saying that all police officers are stupid, but from personal experience the three people I know who became police officers were the ones who always placed last in school tests.

  3. My advocate advised me not to go to the police if I need help, but to contact him….

I live in Malta without the protection of the law….

  4. As much as I hate the police for their power trips and abuse, let’s not forget that these despicable trio were outed by their own co-workers which are police too!

  5. These are close associates or family members of ppl within the labour party. The maltese police has it’s own corruption etc problems…. But the problem described above come from the labour party… not the police

  6. What’s wrong with these people. Jesus Christ. We come to Malta, work, pay our taxes, yet I hear every now and then that people are being insulted, beaten etc. Wtf. Do Maltese even know that this island would be nothing without foreigners? Maltese would be prolly eating their own shit like during times when UK left Malta… What a disappointment. Shame.

  7. This is the very reason why I left the country 4 years ago and I will never look back.
Being a foreigner in Malta is being a 2nd class citizen, just because these people exist and the system is rigged against you if you are not filthy rich.

  8. Not a huge fan of migrants myself but I think that these so called law enforcement officers need to have the book thrown at them. Picking on people who were minding their own business and not bothering anyone is insane, irrespective of skin color. If the migrants were being an annoyance then I would agree with heavy handed tactics as they would have it coming for them, but they were being drunk alone in some corner away from people. Not cool at all. Good job on their fellow colleagues for reporting them.

  9. Every fucking day it’s a new scandal that would have everyone involved publically crucified in a genuinely functioning country.

We need a scorched earth policy reformation of everything that even resembles an association or government department. We need the human resources equivalent of ultra-aggressive chemo. Every single person in politics replaced, their relatives banned as well from any public position.

At this point, we’re fucking mexico without the actual gang violence, but give it 2-3 decades and we’ll have the actual desert too. Leave this country to its fate otherwise, it’s a lost cause.

  10. I pretty much live in Hamrun. It was never a high-class place, but over my short lifetime I’ve really seen it get worse and worse. People tell me I’m just paranoid or exaggerating, but there’s literally only bad vibes there. When I have to go shop there I get stared at and feel like I’m being judged. Even walking around some people stare at me so I constantly feel on guard. I’ve had to go to the police station 3 times because I was a victim of a crime, and their service did not impress me at all. And I started feeling some time ago that I even need to be on guard around the police there.

What even is your country anymore when the best thing the police can do is be unhelpful, and the worst thing that they can do is treat you inhumanely?
