I find these pictures really depressing, not only because of the apparent theme of someone’s dead child being buried here, but also because the way the cemetary is so cramped, uneven, devoid of relief. It is because I work in the field, my dad makes gravestones and sometimes I help place them. Cemetaries in germany are usually full of trees, grass, bushes and other plants. I’ve seen cemetaries in Paris, London, Vienna and many in Germany, but almost always I felt really suppresed by sadness seeing ones like these. The gravestones so close together, I see no benches for relatives to sit upon, the season does the rest, being close to, or in the winter with dead leaves, suppressed sunlight. I wish I never have to go there and never wish anyone to have to go there either.
