  1. I think if a few more people were willing to call them cunts then perhaps they’d get the idea we don’t like them much and fuck off. Bunch of cunts.

  2. Sure loads of people will call me wet or soft because they agree with him (as do I), but OBVIOUSLY he has to be suspended. Firstly, you don’t say cunt when you’ve got a live microphone.

Secondly, if you’re a journalist who is expected to report on politicians, don’t get caught calling one of them a cunt. It ruins your credibility when it comes to criticising them.

  3. >the newsreader will not return to screens before November 4 due to a pre-existing week of leave.

So he’s still just got an extra weeks holiday as punishment. Seems fair.

  4. He wasnt wrong in calling Steve Baker a cunt. If possible that UNDERSTATES how vile a man he is

But this is to be expected. Do you not think Baker and the Tories have made threats here? Cmon.

They cant be seen to have someone that isnt impartial working as the face of Channel 4 politics

  5. Eh, not great, but he’s a good presenter. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Also, Steve Baker is a cunt.

  6. Whether Steve Baker is a cunt is irrelevant. As a presenter of a news programme he should of kept his emotions in check; a journalist is supposed to be professionally neutral (except in certain styles of journalism).

However, for KGM to call him a cunt he must have been quite provocative.

  7. It is painfully obvious that the “Cunt” is meant in jest, the two men are laughing. KGM is a weird dude and that would account for dropping the C bomb so casually, but it’s not like he grabbed Baker by the lapels and spat Cunt directly into his eyes.

  8. I don’t know the full story but I heard he called a Tory a cunt…

This guy is clearly a national treasure, give him his own prime time show now.

  9. Thought channel 4 would have more balls! They’re the only one mainstream who’ve been holding them to account see the desperation to privatise their only proper critic!

  10. What a crap headline.

He’s been given a one week suspension then had one week of leave.

Whether I agree with his sentiments or not, a one week suspension for calling an MP a cunt, as a national broadcast interviewer, is probably fair.

He won’t be arsed by this and probably will enjoy an extra week of leave even if it is unpaid

He will be reinstated when he comes back from leave in a couple of weeks though so this is a trash headline.

ETA: the Metro have now edited the headline to say he won’t be reinstated “this week”. That’s a vastly different headline.

  11. Journalist- calls man a cunt, off camera, for being a cunt.

Prime minister- is a cunt, gets caught out being a cunt, resigns because everyone knows he’s a cunt… Could be back just a couple of months later as PM.

Reminds of that time that a guy who played the president on TV’s career ended because of sexual assault, but the guy who was actually president got away with it.

  12. The irony is it took Guru-Murthy calling somebody a cunt for me to reconsider my position on him being a cunt. Now he’s just been downgraded to standard media twat. Shame he apologised as he might of actually become somewhat of a heroic figure if he had doubled down.

  13. It’s happened several times in recent times, but none of them have got into major trouble for it. They apologise and that’s the end of the matter.
If they force him out he might have a case for unfair dismissal.
    Channel 4 bosses, cunts lol

  14. That’s a shame. I thought he was correct in his comment that Steve Baker is a cunt. Hopefully Krishnan gets another news gig soon.

  15. Krishnan works too good as a political journalist that he knows his job is to be an interrogative wanker against MPs and ministers. He thinks there are natural limits in his job because no one likes being interrogated and forced to reply to difficult and incriminating questions.

  16. Let it be known that October is call a Tory a cunt month, I’ll be calling Richard Holden a cunt if I see him around.

Of course, I’d call him that any time of the year but the point remains.

  17. if im being impartial here, he should be sacked.

now do not get me wrong, i totally agree with his sentiment, I have an old brother who was put through pip hell by this bunch.

but you get caught saying that, and its game over, even if its true…..

  18. Seems like a bit of a hit job, I’d imagine he eventually pissed off the wrong person. Don’t like the guy myself or the word, but I’d defend his right to call people cunts off-air when it’s intended as private banter.
