‘I refuse to give up my train seat for elderly passengers – they should book’

  1. Ultimately this is the train company faults and their eternal greed to sell more tickets than seats.

Why in the hell is it even possible to buy a first class ticket without a seat for this train company.

Why would the train company be allocating seats for disabled or elderly people without indication the passenger is disablednir elderly.

Doubly so when once again the cost of first class tickets are pretty damn extreme as is.

  2. A Reddit post, referencing a news article, referencing a Reddit post for its entire shoddy excuse for journalism.

    How meta.

  3. Entitled arsehole.

If ever I got on a bus or train and it got crowded then I’d offer my seat to a pensioner or a woman, some of us have manners.

  4. I completely get it after reading the article. The woman reserved a seat in first class, treated herself a bit knowing that she would have a 7 hour long ass journey and being told to move, why? Because the woman’s 60

60 isn’t even old, most people are still working at 60

The woman wasn’t asking someone to move in the shit seats was she? Immediately saunters upto first class and starts telling other people they need to stand instead because she didn’t book a ticket

Blame the railway line for allowing people to book priority seats

  5. If she desperately needs a seat, go look in standard class for priority seats. If she needs a seat that badly it’s an issue for the train manager, not the passengers.

  6. I’m a bit like this on the bus now. I work 60 hour weeks, can’t get a doctors appointment because the ancient among us need to go 5 times a week and cripple the economy by never dying so now I just think I’m sitting at the front where I can stretch my long ass legs and get home in comfort.

  7. I have sacrified enough for the boomer; they get the houses, the pension, the priority from the government, and now they want to take the first class seat this lady booked?

Just F off and book your own seat. If the boomer desperately needs a seat, go to the standard car.

  8. Honestly, as a young visibly disabled person who has been screamed at by abled bodied retirees over who has more right to the priority seat on the bus…

    #Fuck ’em
