The food is mediocre but the tea is good. And in my experience, once you’re in an Irish hospital you’re in good hands. You’ll be grand, update us on the other side.

Don’t know about the hospital you’re in but mine always has crackers, cheese, yogurts and rice puddings in the fridge on every ward. If you’re starving I’m sure a nurse wouldn’t mind grabbing you something more when they get a minute. Best of luck with the recovery!

Pretty sure last time I was in hospital they served me someone’s appendix in congealed gravy, what’s for lunch tommorrow?
I love hospital food, there is something comforting about it. Waiting around all day for the 3 meals dividing the time. Waiting for interspersed drugs and tea offerings.

Back in my day we had to bring our own food in coal bags!
If you get blocked up from painkillers, a shot glass of prune juice before bed will restart it in the morning. I had a kidney out 6 months ago and 2 shots of prune juice got me back to normal on day 3

Good morning everyone. Just up now getting all my antibiotics. I had a horrible sleep, I’m really nervous. But ask your messages have been wonderful to read and I appreciate every one ❤️

This is the issue with our health system. We only complain when we’re in the midst of an in patient episode and as soon as we’re free, clear and healthy we tend to move on rather than continue to complain. We just make it through a shambles of a service and we blank it from our minds because it’s too painful to revisit. Everyone has this experience. Everyone is fatigued. Everyone is mad in the moment. We need to stay angry and remember the last visit as if you’re living through it again. We need action against the wasteful management of our facilities, the burn out of our healthcare providers and the ignorant approach of firing more money on a burning dumpster of a problem.

I was surprised by the food in rotunda. It was really good.
Hi guys, update 2: it’s out! Got it removed around 11am. Woke up approx 12:30 and have been really drowsy and my stomach area is very painful, but it was keyhole thankfully so recovery should be quick.
Being kept overnight, so please god recovery is quick so I can go home to my own bed tomorrow and a big mug of tea. Excited to see the dinner selection soon 😂 thanks again everyone ❤️
