Strong and stable. Remember that one ? Or “fuck business”?
Yeah because now we might end up with somebody who’s perceived as competent (Sunak) or a complete fucking idiot that was already forced out once.
These reactionary headlines are getting quite annoying, the strength of the pound fluctuates daily, a 1p drop is nothing
Is the level of uncertainty regarding the UK economy rising? Yes
Can that clearly be attributed to the strength of the pound in the last week? No
We need to give people money to spend. This money needs to be targeted.
Just as planned crashing the economy! You were all warned and laughed
This won’t even make the news and most people will never know it happened
Because everyone’s distracted by the latest stupid squabble tearing the useless Tory party apart, putting off the day when they (inevitably) lose power by another two years
Prolonging the uncertainty and economic misery for everyone except selfish Tory MPs, who think **their** jobs are more important than everyone else’s
Nothing has changed, it was just s fantastic trading opportunity selling GBPUSD when it hit the top of the downward trend line. It’ll likely continue down to just above 1.09 before/if it bounces.
Unless something radical changes it’ll test the previous lows in next couple of months.
Tories sinking the pound, sinking the NHS, sinking Britain.
Another one of these dumb sensationalist headlines, where the pound is exactly where it was a week ago.
Started stripping the house from the foundations and now the loft is wobbling
The BBC’s editorialising of foreign exchange rates is getting ridiculous. They were reporting late last night that the pound was up because Truss had quit, when in fact it was by then lower than before she did. It’s much lower again now, so is the pound down because Truss quit? No it’s because of “uncertainty” now apparently.
They’re forever presenting, as if fact, a causal link between some political event of the day and the movements on a 12 hour GBP/USD chart.
They should try zooming out for once and show us the real story.
Pound sinks as Boris is favourite to win leadership battle*
“Don’t blame me, I voted for Chaos with Ed Milliband.” — Homer Simpson
Where even a general election might not save us, not unless we can get the Tories out. All we have done is torpedo our integrity and it will take a concerted effort from a new government to try and change that.
When your prime minister resigning causes the pound to rise, then the prospect of the replacement candidates causes it to go back down, that’s how you know you’re fucked
