20 years ago the Nord-Ost siege crisis began with seizure of the crowded Dubrovka Theater by Chechen terrorists which took 850 hostages and demanded the withdrawal of Russian forces from Chechnya and ended with Russian security services killing or causing death of at least 170 people.

Believed to be carfentinal. Naloxone was used successfully to treat some victims. I think Russia has admitted the gas contained a fentanyl derivative, and tests performed by other nations confirmed the presence of carfentinal.
