I wish she was probed on her thought process when she typed that out and hit the publish tweet button… I think it’s easy to just say sorry.
She looks the head off the Grand High Witch
Fucking clueless politicians finn geal jumping to conclusions again.
It is not hard to stop and think before you post something online that may offend.
First her then Leo
Headline should be “Gowl apologises for being a Gowl – sorry not sorry. Move on, nothing to see here”
SF living in her head
She must be worried about holding on to her seat when the next election happens.
Such an odd conclusion to jump too, when I first heard something about a petrol station explosion in Donegal I assumed the fuel tanks had ignited accidentally. The possibility of terrorism didn’t cross my mind even when the details were hazy.
Fine Gael’s Josepha Madigan has apologised for a tweet she wrote and then deleted in the aftermath of the Creeslough tragedy.
As news of the tragedy broke, the Minister of State for Special Inclusion tweeted, “One hopes this isn’t deliberate, but it is yet to be clarified! I hope no-one is injured and they find the culprits.”
10 people died in the explosion at the Applegreen petrol station and Ms Madigan’s reaction was criticised as insensitive.
Speaking to The Hard Shoulder, the Dublin Rathdown TD said she regretted what she had written.
“First of all, I shouldn’t have sent the tweet,” she said.
“I was wrong and I want to sincerely apologise for not just sending the tweet but also for the offence caused as a result. I am terribly sorry for that.
“I also want to offer my heartfelt condolences to the entire Creeslough community but especially to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones.
“It’s an unimaginable tragedy that was visited on the people in Donegal and my heart goes out to all of those affected by this absolutely shocking event.”
An Garda Síochána believe the explosion was an accident.
Kinda surprised that FG with all the money they spend on pr haven’t taken her Twitter off her yet
I don’t know why at moments like this they don’t just say “thoughts are with all those at the scene”, or better yet, say nothing if you can’t think of anything to say.
We give out about politicians having secretaries and advisors, yet not one of them is managing her image or her statements.
Crazy that FF and FG supporters continue to demonise Sinn Féin when this is the quality of politician currently occupying their parties.
She’s probably disappointed it *wasn’t* a bombing that she could tie to SF.
The amount of comments on the Facebook post of the article justifying her saying how it was everybody’s first though that it was deliberate
how would one come to this conclusion?, why would Ira or loyalists bomb a petrol station in the middle of nowhere in donegal, usually it was in the actual northern irish borders and in the cities
Between her and Michael Martin making claims that he later walked back, FG and FF are getting very Trump like in their attacks on the opposition.
Make a bold claim about your opponent and after it’s spread through the press you can withdraw it.
