You know it’s clear that despite this journalist knowing fine well how inappropriate that question is he doesn’t have the stones to not ask it and disappoint his bosses.

I’ve always got the impression that certain parts of the UK press have a very bad attitude towards Hamilton for reasons beyond his relative outspokenness (as far as F1 drivers go).

  1. What a silly question,

I bet loads of people especially wealthy people would be able to have some kind of tenuous link to some companies who are linked with something that some people would say is morally objectional.

Clicked on more links, Kingspan, one of the most popular brands of insulation in the UK,

It’s like saying anyone who has ever used Kingspan or is using it or planning to is supporting killers or something. STFU.

  2. The Daily Mail couldn’t care less about Grenfell nor the victims or their families. If they did they’d use their incredible power to destroy those responsible. What they don’t like is Lewis Hamilton speaking publicly about LGTBQ+ rights. Consequently, they’ve gone out of their way to try and discredit his views with some classic Tory ‘whataboutery’. Horrible newspsper.

  3. Hamilton’s achievements are insane as far as sport goes, let alone Formula One. He will go down in the history books with Senna, Prost, Schumacher etc. He was immature when he started but he has grown up massively, he has also made mistakes in his public life but has still apologised over many of those too (like when he wore a dress on a magazine cover after joking about his nephew wearing one). He is a huge victim of the press’s desire to tear people down.

  4. There is literally no one in the UK press who thinks that Lewis Hamilton has any involvement in the decision-making of which sponsors appear on his car, and the only reason any of them would even try to drag him into that would be to virtue-signal to their readership in a manner that exploits those very deaths they’re pretending to give a shit about.

  5. Don’t see how it’s an inappropriate question, this interview in isolation. His team is in a sponsorship deal that 72 Grenfell survivors themselves have criticised, so there’s nothing wrong with a journalist asking for his opinion. He didn’t try to blame Lewis whatsoever.

  6. There is a deep ingrained racism at the daily Mail and something like this is all part of the attack on him.
When they get called out for things like this they always fall back on we can’t be racist look at out record of fighting for Stephen Lawrence. How dare you !
