Found this drone-video showing the river Sauer from Echternach to Wasserbillig

  1. Terrifying and very impressive video, thank you for finding and posting it! It must have taken many hours to make as moving from one town to the next is quite difficult at the moment. The only thing missing was the confluence of the Sauer and Mosel in Wasserbillig (I regretted not having my drone with me when I took [this crappy short video](https://youtu.be/c3jJ8VVP9oc) from behind some trees).

My neighbors – some of whom have been living in the Sauer valley for many generations – cannot remember ever seeing floods as bad as this. There is talk about people having died on the German side.

When the water has receded and the damage has been repaired, we will have to address the issue that people were surprised by the flood in their homes in the middle of the night without any alarm or warning.

  2. Is the road from Luxembourg to Germany (Trier) closed? Because the floods happened around this area, correct? I checked Google maps and the road seems fine, but I don’t want to drive there if it means putting myself and my family at risk.
