Czech Republic is going the extra mile and[ proposes legalisation](https://www.praguemorning.cz/czechia-could-soon-legalise-sale-and-growing-of-marihuana/), same as our [western neighbours](https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/26/germany-to-legalize-cannabis-use-for-recreational-purposes.html). Those regulations in place bring advantages only…
1. Millions of PLN to come into the budget via taxes
2. Thousands of new jobs
3. Less spending in judicial system for minor offences connected to possession and cultivation
4. Removing the danger of lacing weed with other chemicals
5. More happy people…
What is Your take on that? For me its just a matter of time, before the next goverment opens its eyes and goes through with this…

As someone who works in the US cannabis industry, this could be a big deal for Poland. And as a recently new polish citizen I would love to help make this a reality!
No shit Sherlock, of course we should!
More addicts you say?
Whatever, cannabis is not worse than cigarettes and alcohol, which are already legal. But I hate when it is presented as some sort of the God-given panaceum, while it’s just a brain stimulant with few positive medical applications and this preposterous weed culture grown around it.
[Germany announces plan to legalise cannabis for recreational use](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/oct/26/germany-to-legalise-cannabis-for-recreational-use) . As always we will be last with everything, because conservative mindset in this country blocks any progress. We just love this status quo, let’s ban abortion and don’t treat LGBTQ as people, because some priests told us so. Great idea, what can go wrong with listening to such people that want to just control people and tell them what they can’t do, because some brainwashed bigot says so.
Yes, you’re right. It’s mutual profitability for the gov and the business. It’s safer to impose quality control from the legal standpoint than just fight the product. It attracts tourists (though you might regret that in future). It creates a certain culture and leads to the quality growth of the product, so more variety and less potential health damage. And no, the government will never do that. At least not the current one.
We definitely should. And once Germany and Czechy legalize it’d be impossible to keep their product from being smuggled into Poland anyway – that’s the problem Germany always had with Netherlands. There’s no chance of legalization as long as PiS and the 65+ electorate is in power though.
Point 5 – insert “we don’t do that here” meme
Dude, we aren’t even at depenalization level.
Both PiS and PO had chance to do that for many years, there have been petitions initiatives. Fuck me, 10 years ago Ive been even protesting as part of Wolne Konopie movement.
This country is ruled by morons for the last few centuries, nothing changes. I dont give a fuck about legalization anymore for so long now. Its a lost cause. Using logic won’t work. All they care about are votes, and young people dont vote because they are fucking idiots. Rinse repeat.
Damn I read we should legalise cannibalism and i was like yo wtf
You’re absolutely right
Marulize Legauana!
By the looks of it, i would be grateful if this government doesn’t make it mandatory to attend church once a week in case they win the elections. Weed legalization is probably not something they would ever do.
No, it should not be legalized. Weed kills more brain cells than alcohol does, society is dumb enough as is. All you’re saying is you’re a junky and you want everyone else to be one too. You know what legalizing will do? Spread synthetic cannabis, google what they do if you don’t know about them.
It’s not only a PiS problem. Almost no polish party has legalisation of cannabis in their programmes. Ever wondered why alkohol is so cheap in central and eastern europe? It is to control population. Not only that, I’d be also willing to bet that most mainstream politicians and major party backers own a huge chunk of that industry and will lobby against marihuana with all they have.
Best we can hope for is downgrading possession of small and moderate amounts of marihuana from crime to misdemeanor. Maybe that will create some leeway to further pursue legalisation. Younger generation will treat it to older electorate, and it will help to debunk all the myths that the parties build their rhetorics upon.
Alcohol is legal and is much more lethal than Cannabis.
Seriously, you can’t overdose with Cannabis.
Sure, argument could be made “But Cannabis/weed makes you high!” and alcohol/beer makes you drunk.
There is already so much weed on the streets that it’s basicaly legal
Ngl if you want to legally smoke in Poland you already can. The sheer number of my friends who switched from street corner dealers to prescriptions and pharmacy quality weed proves it.
The only issue is that I’d assume it’s not as common outside of big cities thus being harder to obtain.
No, today’s marihuana has very little CBD and thx levels are very high. Speeds up psychosis and you’re more likely to get addicted and use hard drugs. Stay safe when doing drugs
yes please!!!!!!++++100000%
mariuhanen? and who needs that? needed by whom?
Of course. I’m not a fan of cannabis myself, but people who enjoy it should be able to enjoy it safe and legally.
I read that we should legalize cannibals
Guess what, a lot of policies could be passed because they simply make sense (decriminalisation of marijuana included), but won’t be simply because it’s unpopular with certain people who have a mentality of “I don’t want it, therefore nobody should want it”- and by that I mean the electorate, not the politicians. Neither the current ruling party nor the opposition party with the highest vote count will pass it because 1) they’re afraid of alienating voters, 2) for a majority of supporters, this is not a vote-deciding issue. The only way would be for a (currently) smaller party to come into power, but it won’t happen over weed alone obviously.
