Beautiful bridal crown and Bunad. Some are still today getting married in the same outfit today, people who treasure tradition and history.
Kinda Sami looking
If you google ”Hardangerbyllup” (meaning Hardanger wedding) you will see many recent photos from people still wearing this at their wedding. This was a really beautiful picture btw.
When I get married I want to get married in a bunad. The white dress is boring
One of our national treasures, the painting Brudeferd i Hardanger is depicting a wedding from Hardanger, which is the place that this bunad is from.
That is actually cool. If i found a girl that want to marry me using that i might say yes. Otherwise we are just sending in the papers like all normal persons do.
You can rent a bridal bunad crown at Husfliden for example. Then you get the one suited for your home places’ bunad.

Looks like a bridal suit from Hardanger. They are quite similar to the Hardangerbunad but are more ornamental and have more embroidery on them. You also had a silver belt and a dalarkjede (Agnus Dei) whom only married women could wear. This was by tradition the first time a woman would wear this.
The crown was usually in silver and heavily ormented and should be worn on ruffled hair to symbolise purity and virginity. If worn by someone who was not a virgin, punishment or fines could ensue. The crown was usually owned by the priest’s wife and was loaned out to the woman when marrying.
