At college, a dozen guys punched and kicked me half to death on CCTV in a racist attack, and the police weren’t even called.
Don’t they usually include a picture of the person who commited the crime as the main picture of articles about someone who’s been convictions? I could be wrong but seems strange to have the thumbnail as the victim of the crime when usually you see the guilty person.
Victims quite understandably want harsher penalties for the crime they have been subject to, it’s why we have magistrates and judges set sentencing with guidelines, unfortunately the victims view is rarely balanced.

Yes they should go to jail for attacking an innocent just because of skin colour. People need to learn racism is ignorance.
Racially aggravated assault, which this blatantly is, can get two years custody even if it doesn’t go as far as ABH. No jail time for such a cut and dry case following other instances of harassment is extremely lenient.
