I just received my work offer and I am not sure if the amount said in the offer is gross or net.
Plus ,what do think is a fair salary for financial analyst with 5 years experience.

  1. I’d say the amount is gross, as they write that you’ll get that, less taxes and social security. Try to get your salary fixed in eur or usd if you can though. I’d guess you’ll get at least 7-8M huf gross per year, but someone here will tell you a closer number.

  4. It has to be gross, specifying the net in the contract is not feasible, because that would mean that a tax reduction (e.g. new kid born) would be a gross pay cut.

    The text after the amount just says that only your net will be transferred to your bank account (which is common in Hungary, company pays all your taxes on your behalf).

  5. If the financial analyst role in question covers some quantitative modelling and data analysis topics as well then it should be an 8-figure salary in HUF.

  6. If you don’t know what a fair salary is for your position with 5 years of experience, how are you even in the sector? You could (have) told them what you would get for this position at home, then they can offer you a salary here, based on that number you want.

    Otherwise, check it out on Glassdoors. Chances are, if you work for a large corporation, they will have plenty of info on your position
