The businessman perhaps thought that one could attract tourists this way?There is a wonderful example of this in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Međugorje. In 1981, someone had an apparition of the Virgin Mary there, and today, thanks to this, it is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Europe. The small village in the middle of nowhere has become a tourist center with over a million visitors a year and has made many locals wealthy who have known how to take advantage of this. Because someone was delusional 40 years ago.
