Just goes to show what a truly dreadful decision it was. Small businesses are the life blood of growth.
I really do suspect that in 20 years you will struggle to find people who are willing to admit they voted for this. It’s happened with the Iraq war; it’s hard to find people who openly admit to supporting it (I was far too young to know what was going on). Yes, many of the boomers will be dead, but of the ones who are just about still around or those of later generations who take the boomer modus operandi, I really think that with hindsight we will see just how stupid we (they) were.
We will never make this taboo subject work.
The FT doesn’t seem to be pulling it’s punches, when it comes to the effects of Tory bad decisions nowadays. Is it the world of business starting to turn it’s back on their ideology?
Scam artistry and plenty of blagging later, I hope that all the Tory lies, deception and wrongdoing comes back and bites them on the arse.
Like it or not, due to what now appears to have been a massive gamble on American investment, the Tories are now left with their balls in the air. And now that they’ve proven that project fear was in fact a real and pertinent danger, all this fallout feels like a Tory backlash at the frustrations at not being able to make all these “deals” they hung their spurs on.
If you think Liz Truss was bad, wait until Hunt starts to implement things over a drip feed, in order to make us swallow this shit.
