Today is the last day my 2yo is going to the crèche as he starts school after the vacation.
He went 4 days a week and we paid on average 450 EUR for a month. Our daughter is 5 now, she just went to school as the youngest was born, so that is 4,5 years on the last 5 we have been paying this amount. That is almost 24.000 EUR over the past 5 years (I actually never did this total calculation before 🤯)
Luckily there is a tax deduction for that money, but you still have to pay for it every month, without having a choice…

Als je denkt dat we kunnen besparen door het loon van politiekers te verlagen heb je duidelijk niet door wie de echte heersers zijn van dit land. Ikzelf weet ook niet wie, maar heb gewoon door dat politiekers enkel de messengers zijn, so don’t shoot them.
Please, Belgium is one of the most affordable western countries for this. Everyone’s income needs to be indexed so crèches also get indexed. This is a none item
Ik heb zelf kinderen en ik heb de bedragen altijd betaald, vaak de volle pot. Wat ik erger vind zijn de ouders niet gaan werken (leven van een uitkering) en hun kids alsnog aan een superlaag bedrag mogen binnenbrengen. Dat stootte me echt wel tegen de borst en vind ik, eerlijk gezegd, onbegrijpelijk.
* ouderschapsverlof: inperken
* kindergeld: niet indexeren
* bijdrage creches: niet indexeren
Stand van zaken: Kinderen zijn apathisch over de toekomst, presteren ondermaats en hebben psychologische hulp nodig.
Gaat mijn gezien 600€ extra per jaar kosten. Valt wel nog mee :).
Ons inkomen gaat meer stijgen.

Having 2 kids in daycare 5 days a week comes somewhere above 1100 eurokes a month if none of them is ill. On the other hand, for 1 kid it deducted last year a significant amount from my taxes.
I guess this is an indexation question. I would not have an issue if at least the government was following the same indexation rules for their part.
What bothers me in such is that daycares are there to make sure the parents can work properly during the day, making sure economically it is a win-win for the government. For that, I expect that daycares are high quality and trustworthy… Mine is fantastic, but I’ve visited a couple of them before choosing mine, and honestly, I was shocked by the differences in quality and healthy environments. And the amount of kids per teacher is shockingly infuriating.
NVA sure is fucking up badly the last few months.
I feel sorry for the people who don’t have a EUR 800 a week nanny like us and have to rely on daycare.

It’s always something. There is crisis someone changes something and another person loses their shit. But fixing the problem is something we don’t do here, all we do is say he/she/it is the problem.
Can someone translate a bit of this? Crèches are going up in price? We cannot even find a crèche in Mons area for a 18 month old! I’ve been to over 20. No spots, how normal is this?
‘our’ politicians are not ‘our’, they only think about themselves.
People ITT are upset that they will not be paying more taxes for this. Is this opposite day?
Once again you see that Belgian politics only focus on the older generations and not the younger generations. No woonbonus, no indexation for crèche, but let’s give subsidies for every boomer house and let’s keep onroerende voorheffing low for buildings that are old.
And yeah, still pissed about the woonbonus. Not voting on all parties that have taken away such a big benefit, while keeping the woonbonus for second homes alive.

Ondertussen zit Crevits thuis met een burnout… wss teveel stress omdat ze de crèche niet meer kon betalen.
Must be easy to be a Flemish minister. Just do nothing because of ´the budget´.
Then use your spare time for populistic rants that are not related to your competence.
