It would be better if they invited people to vandalise and out graffiti on the statues and out new plaques nearby that said why those monuments were wrong/bad. That way history is preserved and Soviet influence and lies are also eliminated.

Destruction is a mistake.
These should be carted off to some remote corner (where land is cheap) to eventually become a museum.
