Would’ve been free if it was a Labour elected government in 2019
The least they can do with broadband is make it so cancelling is a fixed £30 fee like gas and electric was.
>Millions of people should be paying less
Can apply that to pretty much everything in UK
Like phones, ppl get broadband they dont want or need. Reality is most people dont need fancy broadband.
Edit
Downvoted? Really? Sorry if you didnt know that if you only use the internet for netflix and work you probably dont need a 1gb connection…
Same with a phone. Why pay unlimited data if you only use 2gb a month?
Carry on wasting your money…
I would use this, however their speed plans are so slow and I’m indoors so much.
I have less than 10mbps and pay £30 a month. I can’t get them to go lower and have hit a brick wall trying to get fibre between my fucking useless housing association and BT
Fibre speeds in the UK are crap, our internet speeds are such a joke compared to many less developed parts of the world.
If you recieve universal credit, you can get 15 mbs broadband with virgin/02 for £12.50 a month on a rolling contract.
Well it doesn’t help that most providers now do 3.9%+CPI annually for the cost increase. And also the government investing billions in Victorian communication systems (HS2) rather than investing in the communication systems of the future (fibre & 5G).
Will nobody think about the poor shareholders? Please, they have to bribe the corrupt Tories so let them have their money. Always those stupid plebs are demanding fairness… Unbelievable /s
Could have been a world leader here, yet again we let them take it away
I wish media companies had some regulation added like I think the house insurance companies did. Basically, the insurance companies now have to offer “new customer” prices for renewals or something similar to that effect.
As it’s currently a total ball ache and scam you have to call up every time the contract is coming to an end to threaten to quit before they realise they can, in fact, bring your price right back down at the stroke of a pen.
Infuriating in the extreme plus less resilient/elderly people who don’t know better end up stuck paying ridiculous prices for their loyalty!
Virgin media wanted to increase my contract by an extra £20 pcm for the same service, I rang up and managed to get more download speed and only pay £1 extra
I can only imagine the amount of people that don’t scrutinise contract increases or have the time to ring up and haggle
I am on a microwave system and get exactly what I pay for and they don’t mess around on pricing. Small local company who specialise in rural areas off cable and with rubbish copper (2.5 Mb/s and went off when it rained).
