Wallace travelling to the US for urgent face to face talks sounds pretty ominous.

Im completely spitballing here. But if he has hastily gone to America, Cabinet left with grim faces per Sam Coates. And there is a media blackout for a (presumed) Ukranian offensive…is it possible something serious has happened in Ukraine?
I would suspect that he’s heading to the US to talk with his US counter-part Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.
Ukraine has been asking for advanced air defence systems, long range missiles, Tanks, Infantry Fighting Vehicles, more artillery for a few months now. The revelations that the Iranians are arming the Russians with drones and long range missiles changes the calculations for the West.
Ukraine needs last stand air defence systems like Patriot (US), Iron Shield (Israel), Sky Sabre (UK).
The urgent talks are probably related to military aid packages to Ukraine
Pres. Zelenskyy said this morning that 1/3 of Ukraine’s power generation had been destroyed in the recent attacks.
That’s significant in terms of the people of Ukraine getting through the winter, and with their new Iranian drones probably something that Russia can keep going.
Without an escalation in air defence support Ukraine is going to have a very difficult winter.
Wallace seems to be the only person in the cabinet with an actual, functioning brain. It doesn’t take a genius to see the PMs office is a poison chalice, and I do think he’s rather found his calling in kicking the Russians from a distance.
Chances are he wants nothing to do with another squalid leadership race, and this is a nice opportunity both to avoid it and to try and get the Americans to release more weaponry after all these Iranian drones destroying power and heating plants in Ukraine.
