Westinghouse selected Polish nuclear power plant programme partner

  1. Also from the minister responsible for Polish NPP program:

    > We’ve got it! The first nuclear power plant in Poland will be built by the US @WECNuclear. This is not our last word. More talks on a major nuclear power project in Seoul on Monday. We are consistently building Poland’s energy security.

Earlier Westinghouse threatened to sue South Koreans arguing they would be using patented American tech, but Seoul dismissed that accusation saying the NPP tech for Poland is 100% Korean. Looks like Warsaw and Seoul are continuing with plans to build another NPP in Poland unfazed.

Edit: This is pretty amazing. Not a single person in this thread has read this comment yet.

  2. They should have went with the Koreans. The Americans are just as useless as the French at building nuclear plants to schedule and to budget.

  3. One of top politicians Jacek Sasin also tweeted that soon it can be expected to see an announcement from Seul about Koreans building the second nuclear power plant in the same time frame as Americans. But compared to the American one Korean project will be funded by state owned companies and private investors (American one is funded directly by the state). In both projects it was required for participating country to take on 49% of initial funding on themselves. Tbh its good to have 2 different countries building nuclear plants simultaneously, there’s always competition who will manage to build it in shortest time 😉

  4. I’m fine with US and Korea building two separate plants. When it’ done we can decide who is more reliable and meets the deadlines (for sure it will be Korea, but polish government would choose the US anyway because they love to please them)
