  1. Not so fun fact, “wintertime” is the correct time, it’s summer that’s the lie!

Edit: Apparently Ireland is the exception to the above.

  2. Don’t you tell me I have to wait until 2am to turn back my clocks, you jackbooted crowd of spoilsports. Iโ€™ll do it as usual at about 10pm on Saturday, and you can’t stop me!
(I successfully kid myself that this method, safe within my own house, slows things down even more)

  3. I read that more than a few times before I realised that the second paragraph involves an entirely different date/year.
I thought the announcemt was that there will be a weird and rather terrifying gap, where thereโ€™s no time at all, between 1am and 2am this Sunday.

  4. I really enjoyed leaving work in the last remaining moments of light this week. The world doesn’t feel like it’s coming in on you. Going to work in the dark is grand. I’m asleep anyway.

  5. Every year they say they’re not gonna do it again next year but there’s no progress. I seriously hate winter time.

  6. I hate the dark evenings. Theyโ€™re total shit. Iโ€™m sure I get SAD as my mood plummetsโ€ฆ as soon as Christmas is over I watch the time of sunset and think โ€˜self, yessss!! Thank you universe!โ€™

  7. Can we not like cut Ireland away from the Earth shove a pole up it bum and a spring or something so when the Earths axial tilt inclines away or towards the sun during it’s orbit. Well we’d be okay wouldn’t we? Somebody is repsonsible for this mess and we demand answers.

  8. I have visited Ireland in the Winter (usually around Christmas to visit family) and the sun does not rise until 0900 and it sets at 1630. Very short days.

The sun doesn’t get very high in the sky either. It kind of arcs like a rainbow never getting straight over head like in the summer.

I will tell you this as a visitor winter in Ireland is so quiet and serene. Crawling into a pub with a warm fire going.

I am getting home sick as I write this lol.
