Question: how did the university get rich in the first place?
Multiple choice:
A. Subsidies
B. Catholic funding
C. Industry funding
D. They have a money tree growing next to the barn of the goose who lays golden eggs
The whole subsidy system is broken anyway. So many companies getting subsidies for no real reason.
No Pol VDD, sexual predators not being punished (fast) enough and politicians trying to score points on the victims back are the real issues here.
Edit: Although maybe we should have a chat about this far-right notion of our universities being a waste of money.
This whole opinion piece feels like a desperate attempt to change the subject (from an action that in itself was already an attempt to change the subject from Lantis and PFAS)
That the writer Erik Saelens also happens to be a (former?) [campaign manager for N-VA](https://www.gebrandmerkt.be/) is unrelated I guess.
Neen.
I feel it’s obvious that Zumir is playing everyone’s emotions to detract attention from the deal Lantis is trying to strike with her (dumping a metric shitton of PFAS contaminated water in De Schelde because filtering it would be “too expensive”).
But I’m not surprised, this is the NV-A’s playbook and just typical of populist politicians in general.
