The production numbers show that it was a specialist gun unlike the romantification of movies. My grandfather was a kp-mies, a specialist who was up-front in attacking enemy trenches. My uncle did the research at the National Archive some years ago. No wonder my grandpa never talked about those years. The **** he must have seen and lived thru.
