
This are some sort of petroleum, I found them in zandvoort. I also recognized several shells darkened. Can some one help me understand what is this doing in the water? And what is this? I wouldn’t mind some history.

On Dutch beaches they usually come from ships. The heavy fuel oil they use is like tar. It has to be heated to about 70C(?) to make it liquid.
