  1. How the f??

She resigned for breaking misterial code and now comes back a week later. I guess your slate is wiped clean after every new pm.

  2. This is a really stupid move by Sunak. The culture wars weren’t working, they were simply alienating moderate conservatives and swing voters as they’re were getting nastier and nastier. I think he’s playing to the core of the party, which is exactly who he doesn’t need to please.

  3. what the everloving fuck

she resigned/told to resign or be sacked over national security breaches less than a week ago

she said it was her feverent dream to see refugees deported to rwanda

its been a wild 2 months but i swear truss didn’t go downhill this quickly and its weird because even boris didn’t go downhill as quickly as truss

  4. Appropriate with Halloween round the corner.

She resigned due a security breach, which she viewed as a massive deal

Rishi’s “compassionate conservatism” falls at the first hurdle.

  5. FFS…

I don’t know which is worse: the security breach, the fetish for deporting asylum seekers, or the juvenile culture war name-calling, but she shouldn’t be anywhere near that job for any of them.

  6. So much for renewing integrity within the government when you’re hiring someone who can’t even wrap their head around basic computer security

  7. Psycho Suella…..the evil woman who dreams of plane loads of little refugee children being flown to Rwanda. She would have done well in the third reich

  8. Jesus christ…Sunak is absolutely desperate to unite the party because she is genuinely an unhinged psychopath. She is completely mentally unfit to serve in government.

  9. The woman that spouted an antisemitic conspiracy theory and when challenged refused to apologise or retract.

    She is awful.

  10. So it’s going to be the same faces and shit policies as under Boris Johnson – which had them sliding in the polls well before the summer – but with added tax rises and austerity cuts.

Not going to go well, is it?

  11. Fuck. I don’t care much about the ‘breach’ – I’m pretty sure it was wholly deliberate to allow her to resign – but she seems an utterly vile human being.

  12. How quickly the new broom gets the same old shit tangled in its bristles.

The Tory party is sick to the core, rotating the prat at the top won’t cure it. They need to spend a few decades out of power and sort themselves the fuck out.

  13. The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes. Pretending we haven’t made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can’t see that we have made them, and hoping that things will magically come right is not serious polities.

  14. Just the new pm who was fined for breaking the law when chancellor giving someone back their job after getting the sack for a national security breach. Nothing to see here.

  15. I find this new BBC thumbnail colour scheme of Black, Red and White particularly fitting for the news coming out of our government recently

  16. Stood on his doorstep preaching ‘professionalism and integrity’. Then appoints someone sacked, 6 days ago, for breaking the Ministerial Code.

    Beggars belief.

  17. “This government will have integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level.”

*reappoints incompetent minister sacked for security breach*

  18. Any tiny modicum of faith I had has vanished with this appointment. He’s appointed a woman whose very own followers are currently seething at having a PM of his ethnic origin.

  19. This will be the appointment that brings Sunak down

If he had appointed Mordaunt as H.S instead, I think his government would have been much better

Mordaunt just left number 10 with the same roles she already had – and she look pissed off. Very pissed off

  20. If she felt she had to resign because of an egregious error, what can her rationale for returning possibly be? The error still happened.

  21. Oh fuck off.

I’ve worked in Civil Service roles long enough to know that her “breach of conduct” wasn’t even bad enough to lose most civil servants their jobs, let alone ministers, so it was pure theatre, but bringing her back just shows off that that was the case

    Plus, she’s mad and stupid.

  22. Oh for fucks sake. She is a fucking incompetent right wing clown that talks like an American right wing radio host obsessed with culture wars, general election now.

What happened to boring, responsible government?
