Current opinion poll on party preference made by Sotomo from september 29th to October 3rd. Two years after the last election and two years away from the next one.
Gains and losses by each party compared to the 2019 election:
– SVP/UDC +1%
– SP/PS -1%
– FDP/PRL -1.5%
– Mitte/Centre -0.6%
– Grüne/Verts (no change)
– GLP/PLV +2%
– EVP/PES (no change)
Hm weird, SVP has been losing huge amount of voters in the Gemeindewahlen, like 5-10%
If GPS/GLP don’t get a Bundesrats seat while FDP keeps 2 and Mitte keeps 1 I’m gonna be mad!!
If you do 1 seat per 14.3% then it should be
SVP 2
SP 1
FDP 1
Mitte 1
GPS 1
GLP 1
Now it a unlikely that GLP can get one with just 9% so the next fairer distribution would be a 2nd one for SP…
Certifiably boring.
Still always funny to see that a party that runs mostly on “I’m against it” manages to stay on top.
Boring as always. A shame that the SVP is gaining, but we’ll see how well their “city people are vermin” party program will work when Covid isn’t an issue anymore and they can’t ride that train into the grave.
More interesting, despite there being little focus on climate change atm, Greens and Green Libs were able to hold and increase their share.
Bundesrat has to change in 2023, with this vote break down we should move to 2x SVP and one each for SP, FDP, Center, Greens and Green Liberals. Would also represent Switzerland much better than it currently does.
Incredible how the SVP is the strongest party. When all they do/say is criticizing and forcing negativity/divide people. In fact, rather sad.

Only thing that makes me happy is presumably a lot of FDP are going GLP

Why do so many people vote for a party that hates Switzerland and our national unity? UDC leads the way in dividing our people.
UDC
Could have put this in the “unpopular opinion” reddit, but I sometimes think that the fact that SVP/UDC is the leading political force in Switzerland shows that a majority of people in the country are change averse, xenophobic and small minded. Thoughts?
Hey there our Alpine neighbors, such coincidence that the polls are quite similar in Austria. Although our ÖVP has to suffer at the moment, I doubt we will have a government without them any time soon (as was the case for 37y now…)
This is so dire.
Rest In Peace, Magical Formula.
Omg who votes svp???
Me gseht: lüüt hend nüt glernt
Lmao love reading the comments. People here arent very self aware.
How can the SVP be more popular? We leftists have only been more active… it makes no sense…
Its almost as if people dislike leftists policies in the real world outside reddit. 2+2=4 queeek mathfs.
It is quite fascinating how even in a country as small as Switzerland, there are isolated bubbles. I do not know a single person who would even consider voting SVP. And yet, they are the most popular party by a considerable margin. Pretty wild.
How many people did take part in this questionary? How old were they and how accurate would it represent the average age diversity of the voters, meaning from how I remember it, older people (50+) still make up the majority of the voters, therefore they should have asked more old…
Also with the Covid pandemic and Covid regulations still going on, still poll is somewhat wacky and not really a good prediction as the major concern of people will probably be economic ones after this Covid mess is over
I love svp
It has always been a mistery to me how a party that positioned itself as the opposition constantly has a majority. Are they a opposition to themself?
