There was a disastrous wheat harvest last year which affected the global pasta business, Italy was very badly hit. The world largest sunflower oil producer is also having a bit of a kerfuffle with an illegal and brutal invasion at the moment and that has also had a major impact on the market.
There are so many largely unrelated layers of crap going on at the moment, each one compounding all the others.

Once again the poorest are getting the most screwed over. I do alright, my family and I aren’t going to starve but others aren’t doing alright and are being badly affected by this.
Meanwhile we’ve spent six months focusing on nothing but the infighting and incompetence in the government. Disgraceful.
