Well, ye. Not surprising. Just like dental NHS, dental HSE is an obsolete not fit for purpose system.
I got a contract recently only because the job required me to do so.
My gf did a year with a contract, then got rid of it, has no regrets needless to say.
We can see it from the posts here for people desperate to find a dentist who takes medical cards. The scheme was definitely very good in days gone past, my then dentist said so myself. I was a student at the time and I explained about the HEAR scheme etc. and he asked me to refer any friends with medical cards to him! This was ten years ago and he was actively courting medicial card business! The medical card scheme is so important as preventive care will save the HSE in the long run…
