  1. Well that’s definitely very surprising. But it makes sense considering her husband had a stroke. We’re now going to get two new councillors in less than 2 months.

  2. You could tell it wasn’t easy for her to speak about it in the beginning. Understandable, her husband had a stroke and that changes everything.

Wonder whether another councilor will resign.

  3. The big question is, who will be the successor?
A green politician? Or still a SP one? Will the FDP keep their second seat? Has the GLP a chance für a seat in the federal council?

  4. Sad to see her go, but I’m outraged at the statement by the PS saying that they are only going to consider women for the job. Given that the government is led by 7 members, each of those members have a lot of importance for the good governance of the country. The person should be chosen based on the skills alone.

  5. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I’m glad to see her go. She has been promoting anti-scientific nonsense throughout her career, in particular in the beginning, which made her popular among some folks and resulted with her getting a seat in the federal council. I wish for someone scientifically literate to replace her and I am hopeful that there is an appropriate person among the party candidates.
ETA: all the best to her partner I hope he will recover quickly.
