  1. this is the same concept as the 9-euro Ticket we had in summer, which gave you the posibility to use **all public transpor**t across Germany, except long-distance high-speed trains

this means all buses, regional trains, subways and trams,as many trips as you want, all for 49 euros a month

the pilot programme will last 2 years

  2. Essentially a subsidy for people who already use the public transport, and very small of amount of others. Including those who currently walk or bike, not just people who use car.

But surely the political statements will boast about how much it helped to climate.

Btw, 49€ equals cca 400 km with car.

  3. In Belgium unlimited train is 3357 euro per year (or 279.5 per month). That’s not including bus, tram, metro. Of course also excluding high speed (and international) trains.

  4. God I wish we could do this in Sweden. A monthly bus ticket in my hometown costs 81€. Just going to the city 40 km away costs 187 € per month, or 11€ for a one way ticket.

I visit my parents once a week which ends up costing around 88€ in one way tickets per month.
