These lads have clearly been paid to do this by the local NIMBY Rotary Club geriatric Trust members.
Similar thing happened to a few affordable housing new builds near my last address not too long ago. They weren’t finished yet and it delayed the move in dates for everyone by quite a while which is unfortunate for the intended families. Also a horrible first impression of a community for a new tenant / prospective buyer.
£600,000 worth of houses and £60 worth of materials, up in flames
I don’t know why but with all the fire regs that are supposed to be in place, I’m actually surprised that three 11 year olds could call such damage.
This is realtively common; bored kids out wandering, come across a building site, houses are nearly finished but not locked, so they climb a fence or squeeze through a gap and go into the property to poke around.
One kid gets a bright idea to start burning something (why? cos they’re bored) and very quickly it gets out of control.
I remember when I was about 13/14 there was a massive fire in hay fields a couple of KM away. Aircraft dropping water to try and stop it. A farmer’s whole crop was basically lost. Turned out to be the 12-year-old brother of a guy I knew. They were both out walking down the road, just bored and wandering, as kids do. Kid has a box of matches (why? Because kids), and he gets the bright idea to light one and fuck it over the wall into the field to see what would happen.
Not a stupid or malicious kid. Just a kid, not thinking.
Parents had to take out a second mortgage to compensate the farmer.
