Contrary to popular opinion, I think it’s great. Better for them to drive around with these electro vehicles instead of gas-based motorbikes.

I’m torn on these and scooters. I prefer people use them over cars, but I hate them when they are blocking paths.
I don’t understand how these are legal. We love to legislate things here, how does this obnoxious stuff fall through the cracks?

I love how privileged people judge the norms of socially poorer and uneducated people. It‘s not like bikes are just as annoying, people driving these electric scooter just have another norms.
I just wish they’d stick to the roads, so often their zooming so close to people on the pedestrian walkways. Had many near misses, worse riders then cyclists.
Couldn’t care less if they don’t value themselves enough to wear a helmet tho.
Honestly, I really hate these for a single reason:
Most people driving them behave as if they were either a vehicle (e.g. car) or a person on foot when they are neither. They are by far faster than a person, hence have greater damage potential, and have none of the skill and insurance requirements that cars come with.
They are, in that way, similar to the slower E-Bikes.
Why? I dont have one , im just curious

The reason they are driving those is because you can easily lease them if your drivers license was taken away from you. So usually, the same people who drive those are the ones usually speeding with their leased BMWs…

I hate how unregulated they are. Safety hazards in all situations, the pedestrians if they drive on the sidewalk and themselves if they drive on rads and naturally refuse to wear a helmet “because you don’t have to”. Can’t wait for regulations to crack down on them.
