If she can’t pay people with money, she should pay with shares of the company.
Then, at least people don’t just work for free for her, but instead invest in a project they believe in, and if it is ever successfull, they get their reward for believing in her project.
It’s just not acceptable.
This company is selling cookies for 100 CHF / kg. If you sell cookies for 100 CHF / kg but can’t pay a cook then your business is bad.
Please work for free for me. I don’t have any money to invest but i want to get a millionaire for free. Please help me, it’s a good thing. It’s better than giving money to children in needs, believe me.
>Naanu, das sich auf die Produktion von veganen Cookies spezialisiert hat
Interesting. They should make a shitton of money in Zürich.
If they can’t pay employees, the business is not working out. You don’t operate a for profit business using volunteer work.
They could pay you in shares and drag true believers in.
I don’t see the problem, if you don’t want to do it just don’t apply? I agree it’s stupid to even offer such a position, but that’s the company’s business. Nobody is obligated to work for free
LOL they made an article about it, so funny.
However, unfortunately they didn’t mention the webdev internship offer Naanu also had on their website: they asked for multiple years of dev experience and paid you with a free lunch on Fridays!
The whole company is just a big yikes. On google reviews the owner was defending having slave workers by saying that she works for free as well. I guess she forgot that she owns the company and will reap all future profits….
The idea that someone has the insolence of seriously asking people to work for free for their own and sole advancement would be funny as a joke, but is more than anything a sad reflection on the worldview of the owner.
Bin der gleicher Meinung 🤨🤨🤨
Funny how the “journalists” at 20Hirnzellen just write about “volunteer work” completely unreflected. It’s a for-profit company, not a foundation. That’s not what volunteer work is.
What a joke, I’m sorry but I hope her company goes bust.
>Als Jungunternehmerin sei sie auf eine solche Unterstützung angewiesen
Ah, good to hear, makes totally sense :p
Well, I’m a young entrepreneur too. So if anybody wants to work for free at my company, please drop me a message. You’ll even get free vegan cookies at work!
We’re mainly looking for experienced IT Support people (1st & 2nd Lvl) and an administrative assistant. But if you happen to have other high-class IT skills and want to work for free, I’m sure we’ll finde something to do for you. We might even build a business model around your voluntary work, so you could feel honored! 😉
The real scandal is that 300 people applied anyways…

I checked out their pages for the actual paid Positions:
STEP 4
Projects
After our meeting we’ll set up a test project for approximately 2 weeks(full-time) to see how well we work together and assess your own initiative.
I mean, who do they think they are? Also, their product is basically adding vitamins, fiber and minerals to vegan cookies.
Keep in mind, that this person has an AG, where you need 100k invested in your compan. Also the went on crowdfunding and received a good chunk of a 6 digit sum… ah and of course they looked for a software dev and not a kitchen help for fucks sake…
I don’t understand the hate. It’s absolutely ridiculous of course, but are they not free offer whatever they wish?
I think our economic system would work far better (and we’d reach support for a universal basic income sooner also) if people stopped thinking of employers as caregivers with some inherent obligation to anyone who crosses their path and instead of an equal party in business, where it’s solely their responsibility to pass on a shitty deal.
Yea, the fact they asked for experience for an internship. Internships should be paid full stop. But at least there is a logic to them providing experience. If you are already supposed to have that, there is literally absolutely no fucking point.
Asking for volunteers to bake some cookies, easy. One time thing, no problem.
Trying to recruit a free worker is complete bs though. I don’t care if I have to program or bake cookies. If you expect me to do it every week over several months then I expect you to offer a fair compensation for my time. And lunch is not it.
I don’t understand why she isn’t offering shares. That’s standard practice for joining a startup that either can’t pay competitively or can’t pay at all.
Shame on them! Keep the shitstorm going, that’s all they deserve tbh.
The owner should go full woke and complain about sexism and internet-hate (maybe racism too?) to shut up any critics.

Can we start said shitstorm here in this thread?

edit: Oh wait, they are already doing that
