Spoons, forks, knives. That is the only right order 😛
This is absolutely not the kind of common finn thing this picture leads one to think it is.
Knife, spoon, fork for the win
Do what? Mitä hemmetin sekoilua tää nyt on?
Yes, we’ve always arranged the utensils like that in our home as well. But judging from the comments it may not be that common, haha.
Edit: The utensil drawer in our house is in a counter that has bar stools in front of it so if someone is sitting there you can’t open the drawers fully so it’s useful to know that the utensils are arranged as haa-vei-lu so you can reach for them blindly.
Fork, spoon and knife is the order.
For me its [blank] [blank] [blank] because all of them are in use, sitting in sink waiting to be cleaned or on the drying rack
Luhaavei. Fight me!
what the fuck are you talking about? 😀
I’ll usually just dump the tray from the washing machine and that’s it.
leivahuva
I don’t even know what that thing is called, so I just call it “haaveilulaatikko”
This is pretty misleading, “we” don’t do this in Finland commonly. This is the first time I’ve heard about this and I’m Finnish lol
Rukka tsi sikka
I didnt actually do that, but my grandma did. I thought it was genius
This is also the proper order on the table, from left to right: fork, [plate], knife, spoon. If someone is grabbing sets of utensils from the drawer, they can then set the table by leaning over each position with the correct utensils in each hand to set down.
Do you have a dish drying cabinet
I have them all in one container unorganized.
Doesn’t seem to be many dreamers around here. But appreciate this. Thanks 😊
I’m Finnish but I’ve never heard of this before. Mine are usually in random order.

More like Rukkatsisikka.
No sehän on tietenkin HaaVeiLu ja alapuolella PiLu
I mean I have mine in this exact order but have never heard of the “haaveilu” thing
Knife, fork spoon is the order in our house and the teaspoons are at the bottom of course!
This is the only way.
What is this post getting at? Because this just looks like something everyone does in every kitchen I have ever been in. Everyone I know puts knives forks and spoons in a tray like that and then in the draw it’s not a big deal.
