The Brexit cult that blew up Britain

  1. Truss was a remainer though. That aspect of the article is a load of nonsense. How can she have been part of a conspiracy to be a tax libertarian who wants Brexit to rip up financial regulations for 11 years when she voted to remain?

Otherwise enjoyable read. There was a few mistakes in it, but I agreed with the overall point. Small state is dead.

  2. Had this not happened in 2016 it would have happened in 1992. The question of Europe had always divided the Conservative Party.

  3. The article has a point. This was the most extreme version of Brexit yet, the “Singapore on the Thames” “Britain Unleashed” – a low regulation, low tax, small state country undercutting everybody. And this mirage has collided with reality, funny enough exactly with those market forces they worship so much.

Brexit has collided with reality and left a crash scene.

It is possible that they will try another crash, but the extreme version of Brexit is dead.

  4. Brexit is a Tory creation but Labour is defending it as well. Apparently it is political suicide to say Brexit is not working since this was the will of the British people. Personally I think the people were tricked and now the whole country is paying the price, except for Tory donors and hedge funds that seem to be reaping the benefits of Brexit.
