Arthur Labinjo-Hughes: Review call over ‘lenient’ jail terms for couple

  1. I don’t see the point of awarding x/y/z year sentences for murder. Should be ongoing incarceration by the state _until rehabilitation_. If a killer is judged to no longer be a threat to society, they should be released having served a minimum of (say) five years, with _serious_ parole terms and ongoing support. Those who continue to be deemed a threat will continue to be held.

  2. Good. Judge was weak. Absolutely outrageous sentences. Mr Justice Wall might as well have endorsed those horrific crimes with the pathetic sentences he handed them.

  3. One of the fucking saddest things about all this is the kid hasn’t even been laid to rest yet – he’s still in the morgue of Leicester Royal Infirmary 16 months after his murder
