Surprised it made it through the middle east without a male companion, mustve made evasive maneuvers to dodge the stones
The way she navigated the mediterranean and black seas is super impressive. Makes me think it remembers the route.
To get deeper insight into honey buzzard movement and migration ecology close to 40 Finnish honey buzzards have been harnessed with satellite transmitters in Western Finland starting in 2011.
I remember my biology teacher telling and showing us about a similar instance of tracking a migratory bird. Shown in the data the bird had very clearly avoided one certain island known for bird-hunting. That was very cool.
I must be a female falcon because I too am from South African and I want to migrate (immigrate and I’m also male) to Finland!
Why did she stop at Helsinki
So jealous, i want to travel like that!
