I have personally given up the thought of a positive future. As long as the same people stay in power, the same mistakes get made.Voting doesn’t even do anything, all parties just fight and exclude each other. Not that it matters since there isn’t a single good party to begin with. /rant
I genuinely believe that the perception our younger generations has of nuclear power is partly influenced by tv shows such as the Simpsons portraying it as dangerous and polluting.
We should’ve built new plants 20 years ago to bridge the gap to Nuclear fusion plants, which we should be building now (or soon in any case, as soon as lessons from projects like ITER can produce a blueprint for a economically viable fusion power plant).
Expanding our solar, wind and hydro energy generating infrastructure (however limited that last one is in Belgium) was a great idea, but it cannot be our continuous main supply of power.
