Today France celebrates Armistice Day, 104 years ago the First World War ended, a war that killed 10 million people and left physical and mental scars on several generations of Europeans.

  1. I think you are forgetting the millions of others from many countries. Australia had 62 000 killed and 156 000 lost or wounded out of 417 000 who enlisted. A higher percentage than any other nation. All were volunteers, we voted twice against conscription here. Guys were still killing themselves well into the 30’s. And now look at Ukraine. We’ve learnt nothing. Humans suck.
