That looks like it could be a front page revelation on the bi-weekly Celtic Punk magazine. “Frank Gallagher – My Truth.. Sex, Drugs and Celtic Punk, my time as lead front man with the Orthodox Celts”
There is a Polish band named Carrantuohill, they play Celtic music but I wouldn’t say they put they own spin on that. They are still great though 🙂
I enjoy their “Star of the County Down”. They ham it up in the video quite a bit.
Came for the Hassidic chariot warriors. Was disappointed.
There’s even Japanese Irish folk music. There’s one band whose name I forget, but they were really cool.
Serbian or Croatian. Had Christy on at work and was told “we have this music at home”
I do my own “Tyrrell’s March” because I cannot find sheet music for it. You can only here it on the streets of some town that hasn’t run me out yet.
Look up Terra Celta from Brazil.
Happy Ol’ McWeasel from Slovenia.
Shout out to the Cherry Cokes from Tokyo, Japan. Philip Chevron of the Pogues (who invented the Celtic Punk genre essentially) name checked them before saying they were one of the few ‘modern’ Celtic Punk bands he liked/appreciated

No folk but rock although Lizzy did have celtic tunes and reels in some of their songs, I can’t remember their name but they’re a Japanese thin Lizzy tribute act and damn good. Easily found on you tube.
