In any event. We’ve never really been neutral and we can’t ever be truly neutral either because we don’t have the military capabilities to effectively enforce it. We already do more than our fair share to advocate for peace and stability around the world as we don’t deploy our troops overseas for any other reason than peacekeeping.
>to protest against the continuing US military use of the airpor
Why don’t they have an issue with 30+ other countries whose militaries used it last year? Wouldn’t be very neutral to just ban the US
Devalera introduced neutrality. It’s never been fully explained.
We should be paying for the fuel for any planes using Shannon to help supply Ukraine.
I’ve always been uncomfortable with the use of Shannon. But they lose me when they start talking about the “proxy war” in Ukraine and the need for peace talks. This argument seems to pop up often enough on this sub, making it sound like the Ukrainians don’t want peace or something, or that the onus isn’t on the invader to stop invading.
I don’t know, but that’s more of a moral argument to allow the US military to use Shannon. It devalues the rest of it for me.
