‘Dog whistle politics’: Tory MP accuses Home Office of ‘deliberate’ decision to allow asylum centre crisis

  1. The Conservative government does not want a reduction in asylum seekers, or for those seeking asylum to be looked after cost effectively because the Torys use fear of these people as a (very effective) vote winning tactic – “If you think this is bad, imagine what it would be like under Labour”

  2. It’s more of a “we’re lost control of immigration” foghorn.

Ex-UKIP Reform have ticked up a couple of % since Sunak became Tory leader.

I suspect continued incompetence will push that steadily higher.

  3. All we have to do is build a processing centre in Calais. The French are more than willing to allow it, Macron has suggested it more than once. Then we can send anyone crossing the channel back to France to be processed without any legal issues.
