Hmm… a cynic might suggest a public opinion driven U-turn potentially about to happen here…
I almost feel sorry for the junior ministers having to face the media and defend their boss with one ridiculous argument or another, for the boss to then change their position based on how the media/people react to this defence…
U-turn incoming. Nothing to do with Johnson saying he was going…nope.
Honestly if he’s not that fussed, he shouldn’t go. We’re 7 conferences past our last chance at this point and what we don’t need is influential political figures derailing the conversation by being performatively unenthusiastic about change.
I remember about 10 years ago as a kid we were warned about the 0.5 C increase on average around the world. That was already with few decades of Shifting Goals and Targets.
Now it is said that we are on the way to breach 1.5C for sure.
Yet they wonder if it is a priority.
If something is stated as a necessity priority 40 years ago… Moving the target will only make it even a bigger priority and a bigger shock……
As any student who writes an essay day before submission would know.
Another Tory-Turner.
Boris and Sturgeon are clearly better than Sunak at power plays.
