I’ve said it before and I still believe that in the future you might see someone like Tim Berners-Lee thought of in the same way as Robert Oppenheimer – inventing / discovering something that had the power to change humanity but ends up possibly destroying it. We are a primitive race at heart, consumed by Capitalism,
and can’t handle this kind of technological Pandora’s Box, as the direction we’ve been heading since being so interconnected has been more downward and divided than towards some technological utopia. I guess you could argue it’s not the internet but social media, but the latter is arguably is the accelerant, and wouldn’t exist without the former.
Remember when trolls would just be a bit of a dick but honestly it was a little funny? What happened? The internet was so much nicer back when it was just lonely nerds. Now even they’re terrorists, like wtf?
The cock in the article is making out like this is a free speech issue.
But sueing someone for libel is so hard and expensive that you can say anything you want about a non rich person with no consequence

It is extremely worrying to see that this aspect of US culture now seems to be growing over here as well.
Tim Berners-Lee invented the web to disseminate knowledge. Sadly he did not consider that stupidity spreads faster.
