Podcast by the Irish Times is well worth a listen on this! I had never heard of it before listening and it covers it really well. The story is crazy and so tragic for the victims and their families.
Why on Earth did Patrick Connolly feck off on a holiday like that? That just made things seem a whole lot worse! What a weird reaction…
To anyone questioning the lack of prosecution for the second murder, have a listen to the excellent Gubu podcast from the Irish Times. The DPP did a deal with him to secure a conviction for the killing of Bridie Gargan, remember this was before DNA ect.
