Hi guys I’m going from Switzerland to Berlin for a weekend reunion with friends in two weeks and I want to take this opportunity to purchase a German SIM card with a Prepaid plan already, because I’m planning on moving back to France after living for a long time in Switzerland, and start applying to jobs in Germany as well very soon so a German number comes in handy to potential employers.
My aim is solely to be able to receive calls (and possibly check voicemail from abroad, if possible that won’t cost a fortune when abroad to do so). And in very rare occasions, to be able to call back if let’s say I must call back a potential employer from the German number, but that shouldn’t happen normally. I don’t need use internet surfing data.
So I’ve been looking around and I’ve found the Lidl one to be quite cheap apparently and you can top up online.

Do you know the best Prepaid plan offered in Germany? When I say best in my case I think the most decisive criteria is:
\- to pay as little as possible when I receive an incoming call from Germany on my German number while being in France (I anticipate it will be 95% of my use)
\- to pay as little as possible when calling back a potential employer from Germany from my German number while being in France (I anticipate it will be 5% of my use)
\- of course there should be an online way of accessing my account (such as Lidl connect)

If there must a fixed Prepaid monthly fee every 4 weeks (preferably not), I’m only ready to only pay no more than 3 eur per month.
I will be using an older iPhone 11 I have kept on the side, because my iPhone 13 already uses an eSim + a Sim cards.
