Hey! So over the last summer I went to Sweden to stay with family, and my aunt would always buy [this](https://i.imgur.com/Jiho2gF.png) bread for her breakfast- we called it mjukbröd, I don’t know if that’s the actual name or just a family nickname for it.
Either way, I absolutely fell in love with it, and I was wondering if there are any sites where I could get it imported to the US? Doesn’t have to be the exact same brand, though it’d be preferable- if not, are there any recipes that a semi-competent baker could make that are the same or similar? Cost isn’t a factor. TIA!

*Proper* Hönökaka ([this stuff](https://pagen.se/globalassets/nya-produkt-sidor/hono/honokaka.png)): there may be recipes out there, but you absolutely don’t want to buy anything ready-made outside Sweden.
Hönökaka *needs* to be enjoyed fresh. Like, you can only properly enjoy it on the same day it’s been baked. The day after that it’s *edible*, but not more than that. The day after that… no. Just no.
The thing you’ve linked is… eh. Generic round flat bread thingy. It probably lasts longer than the real thing, but will still be stale by the time it’s crossed the Atlantic.
But if you google “recept hönökaka” there are various recipes that you can try at least.

Jag kan inte hitta något tyvärr. Men det går att skicka livsmedel som privatperson från Sverige till USA. Jag har själv skickat godis till en vän i USA och det tog ã 5 arbetsdagar, paketet åkte iväg på måndagen och var framme hos min vän på fredagen. Rekommenderar alltså att din familj i Sverige skickar ett bröd till dig. Pågens Hönökaka har en hållbarhet på 7-8 dagar och en oöppnad påse bröd smakar bra även om bästföredatumet står bakom hörnet. Om stjärnorna och planeterna står rätt så får du nog hem brödet i tid.

Pågens Hönökaka isn’t the real deal to be honest. There is one original which was baked on the island of Hönö in the Gothenburg archipelago (hence the name eventhough they have relocated to Hisingen). Contact them directly and see if they can help you:

Det är väl ändå Åkes hönökaka som är originalet och det företaget man ska gynna? Liten fabrik i Torslanda utanför Göteborg. Pågen har väl bara hakat på tåget. (Inga skämt om pågatåget nu).
