Lads, can someone explain why I keep seeing these everywhere

  1. Looks like some teens (hopefully) were abusing aerosols to get high. I’m guessing what ever of those cans are, they are pretty cheap.

  2. Bit of googling says it’s “food grade nitrous oxide” so they’re laughing gasing themselves? Sounds like a recipe for oxygen deprivation..

  3. Nitrous oxide.

Used in commercial kitchens for rapid whipping of cream.

Also used by teen for getting off their tits.

  4. About 10 years ago at festivals, friend of mine used to stalk dudes in the campsite and figure out their paths. Then he’d a balloon (very loud) when they were in earshot. After, he’d leap from a nearby tent, balloon in hand, pirouette and bow, then hand them the balloon before disappearing into the ether.

  5. Interesting. I was cycling into city centre and came across at least 20 of those small aluminium nitrous oxide canisters on the road. Are people going crazy on these. All along the n7 and down through Crumlin

  6. Does poppers not have basically the same effect, cost much less, and is easier to hide?

tf are kids doing this shit for?

  7. Came across a few of these washed up on a beach in Donegal yesterday and was wondering what they were about.

  8. Keep seeing people in their early 20’s taking this stuff near car parks, you’re better off taking this shit at home, instead of endangering the public.

  9. I’ve seen people do them but personally it’s not my style, I’ll stick to the weed thanks.

Basically, fill a balloon with fast gas, inhale, and ‘go to the moon’ for 30sec or so, that’s how it was described to me.

Anything that gives a 30 second high can’t be worth it, especially not when ur doing it over and over, if I had to take a guess I’d say depending on a few factors like lung size, how much of the gas escapes to the atmosphere etc, at most there’s probably like… 70-100 hits I’d guess? Could easily be wrong

  10. Have been seeing these around London for years, young fellas with balloons hanging out of their mouths driving (and its always young fellas) is extremely common.

  11. Sir, I regret to inform that you have hippies in your neighborhood. Time for a Slayer concert, or since this is Europe, Mastodon should do.

  12. Was part of a medical team at a rave recently and this is nitrous oxide gas used to get quick, little head buzz. It’s completely legal and unregulated so young people are buying loads of them.

  13. I do a little bit of homebrewing, and use nitrogen food chargers and canisters to gas up a keg of stout. I hope to hell the little scrotes don’t get them banned, CO2 doesn’t go well with stout, makes it too acidic.
