He fills the same niche as Michael McIntyre: the stand-up for people who are ambivalent about stand-up. He’s very safe and says nothing offensive, so he is enjoyed by people who don’t like any sort of offence from comedians, no matter how mild. You don’t have to see him but he still fills an important niche.
